About Us

At BioHackAll, we believe science doesn’t belong only in labs it belongs in kitchens, classrooms, schoolyards, and communities. We’re a youth-powered initiative on a mission to make biology hands-on, hopeful, and accessible to everyone, everywhere.

Our goal is simple: to turn young people into problem-solvers by giving them the tools to tackle real-world environmental challenges through DIY science. Whether it’s purifying water with algae, growing bioplastics from food waste, or building soil health sensors, our kits and challenges are designed to empower curious minds with curiosity, purpose, and creativity.

We bring together students, educators, scientists, and changemakers to build an open, inclusive space for bio-innovation. Through our free kits, open-source science platform, school clubs, and global hackathons, we’re creating a new kind of science movement — one rooted in action, empathy, and sustainability.

We do this by offering:

1. DIY Science Kits

Our kits are designed to make science exciting, tangible, and affordable. Kids and teens can purify water using algae, grow bioplastics from banana peels, detect soil pH, and even investigate air quality — all from home, school, or community centers. Each kit is backed by beautifully designed guides, video tutorials, and science storytelling to spark wonder while encouraging critical thinking.

2. BioChallenges & Hackathons

Through seasonal global challenges and local hackathons, we invite youth teams to develop creative biology-based solutions to real issues like climate change, waste reduction, biodiversity loss, and sustainable agriculture. Participants submit projects, receive feedback from mentors, and have opportunities to present and scale their ideas.

3. School Clubs & BioHackAll Hubs

We partner with educators and student leaders to establish science clubs and innovation hubs in schools and libraries. These are physical spaces where young people can meet, experiment, lead local projects, and bring biology into the rhythm of daily life. We provide starter toolkits, club manuals, and educator support to make it easy to start and grow a hub anywhere.

4. Open-Source Science Platform

Our digital platform is a global learning lab — a place where students, teachers, and amateur scientists can explore experiments, share their research, remix projects, and connect with mentors. It’s mobile-friendly, multilingual, and built for accessibility, especially in low-resource communities.

5. Science Storytelling & Youth Media

We believe facts teach, but stories inspire. That’s why we support young people in sharing their science journeys through podcasts, comics, short films, blogs, and social media takeovers. By giving them a voice, we’re building a culture where science feels personal, joyful, and full of possibility.

We live in a world where environmental problems feel overwhelming — and science often feels distant, intimidating, or elitist. BioHackAll exists to flip that narrative.

We believe:

  • That biology is for everyone — regardless of age, background, or access to formal education.
  • That learning by doing makes science stick.
  • That young people are not future leaders — they’re leaders right now.
  • That local problems need local, biological, and community-driven solutions.

By providing open access to knowledge and tools, we aim to dismantle barriers to science and foster a new generation of regenerative thinkers and makers.
